Tissue thickness varies – even within a single patient's GI tract. That's why our circular staplers enable you to adjust staple height to accommodate tissue that's between 1.0mm and 2.5mm thick. Our new intraluminal stapler has a Tissue Compression Indicator, which measures compressed tissue thickness at specific positions within a gap setting scale.
When applied to tissue, these staplers provide the necessary compression to create the anastomosis. During firing, the controlled tissue compression and adjustable-height staples allow for uniform staple formation at the specific staple height. Afterwards, the formed staples continue to deliver the proper compression to provide a leak-free anastomosis and good hemostasis to facilitate healing.

Ethicon Endo-Surgery Circular Staplers are designed for open and endoscopic procedures and are available in both curved and straight shafts in multiple diameters. The Curved Intraluminal and Straight Intraluminal Staplers are designed to improve access and visibility by attaching the tissue to the anvil shaft away from the main body of the instrument. This instrument has been designed to facilitate insertion, operation, and removal.
Our Endoscopic Curved Intraluminal Stapler is a sealed-shaft, low-reflective circular stapler with a Tissue Compression Indicator with graduated markings. These indicate the approximate compressed tissue thickness at specific positions within the gap setting scale. With a longer sealed shaft, low profile anvil, and low reflective surfaces, it maintains pneumoperitoneum, improved access, and visibility for minimally invasive procedures.
