* In modified radical mastectomies. From a non-randomized, prospective series (N=23), total volume of drainage (590mL ± 430 mL vs 1085 mL ± 690 mL; P=0.0194) and the duration of drains (5 days ± 3 days vs 9 days ± 7 days; P<0.001) were significantly lower with HARMONIC Technology (n=23) than with electrosurgery (n=23) when performing modified radical mastectomies. There was no significant difference in the seroma rate between two groups (16% and 22%).⁹
