Ethicon Endo-Surgery offers an array of educational materials to meet your learning goals, organized by postgraduate year status. At each stage of your training, you will have the opportunity to work with your local EES Sales Representative for access to supplemental tools that can enhance your learning. You can also create your own customized learning journey at EESeducation.com
The following are examples of the kinds of educational opportunities that are available to you.
PGY 1
- Receive an EES TASKit (Train Anywhere Skill Kit) trainer to practice basic laparoscopic and suturing skills anytime, anywhere; includes activity sets, laparoscopic hand instruments, needle holder, and suturing CD
- View videos showcasing approaches and techniques for minimally invasive procedures
- Review product use videos, including the Single Site Laparoscopy Access System, HARMONIC® and ENSEAL® technologies, and ECHELON FLEX™ ENDOPATH® Staplers
- Receive the quarterly issue of InTraining, a publication focused on healthcare trends, technologies, and career topics for surgical residents and fellows
PGY 2/3
- Access an interactive, computer-based simulation on the ergonomics of minimally invasive surgery and correct port placement for optimal access
- Attend a program for minimally invasive surgery residents covering surgical techniques, complication avoidance, the Science of Tissue Management, suturing, endoscopy and relevant business topics
- Review videos showcasing approaches and techniques for minimally invasive procedures
- Register for live web stream events; topics include techniques and indications for minimally invasive procedures, healthcare economics and OR effectiveness
PGY 4/5
- Attend a program for minimally invasive surgery residents covering surgical techniques, complication avoidance, the Science of Tissue Management, suturing endoscopy, and relevant business topics
- Review videos showcasing approaches and techniques for minimally invasive procedures
- Register for live web stream events; topics include techniques and indications for minimally invasive procedures, healthcare economics, and OR effectiveness
- Attend a program for minimally invasive surgery residents discussing how to avoid complications in advanced laparoscopic procedures, energy application for solid organ procedures, and practice management
- View “Case of the Month” videos to understand specific surgical approaches, healthcare economics, and OR efficiencies in colorectal, bariatric, and gynecological surgeries
- Review videos showcasing approaches and techniques for minimally invasive procedures
- Access e-learning modules outlining current healthcare economics and policies
- Download smartphone applications that instruct you on the Science of Tissue Management: Energy and Surgical Stapling
